19. November 2026

The Living Income Community of Practice (LICOP) will host its annual in-person workshop in New Delhi, India, during the week of 16 November 2026.

Bringing together stakeholders from government, the private sector, civil society, research and development organisations, farmer organisations, and financial institutions, the workshop will provide a platform to exchange practical experience, strengthen collaboration and identify opportunities to advance living income within the Indian context.

Why India?

India is playing an increasingly important role in advancing living income approaches. Government institutions, development agencies, businesses and civil society organisations are already applying and adapting living income approaches across a range of agricultural sectors and rural development programmes.

Building on this growing momentum, the workshop will align existing initiatives, showcase practical experiences from India and beyond, and foster coordinated action to support farmer livelihoods, sustainable agricultural transformation and more resilient and inclusive value chains.

Workshop Goal

To strengthen coordinated action on living income in India by bringing together public, private and civil society actors to align strategies, share practical experience and identify pathways for scaling impact.

Thematic focus:

The workshop will explore three interconnected themes and integrate gender equality and women's empowerment, youth inclusion, equity and inclusion of marginalised groups, smallholder voices, and landscape approaches throughout.

  1. Enabling environments for living income

How public policy, corporate commitments, due diligence requirements, financing mechanisms, and sector-wide initiatives can create the conditions needed to support and scale living incomes.

  2. Scaling implementation

Practical approaches to closing living income gaps through effective implementation, including livelihood diversification, public-private collaboration, and links between living income, environmental sustainability and resilience.

  3. Measuring and demonstrating progress

Advancing practical and accessible approaches to measuring living income, monitoring progress, and using evidence to inform policy, programme design and investment decisions.

We are planning optional learning journeys ahead of the workshop, offering participants to visit programmes and initiatives that are advancing living income in practice.
