A month for collaboration and discussion

June has been such an incredible month for collaboration and discussion on the topic of Living Income. As part of a Living Income Campaign, the following events have transpired.


On June 14th over 130 stakeholders from a variety of sectors, civil society, companies, and government agencies gathered in Amsterdam for the Living Income Summit. The event was organised by the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) and co-hosted by the Living Income Community of Practice and provided a space for impactful collaboration between stakeholders to discuss strategies for closing the income gap.



 

On June 15th and 16th the Virtual Living Income Workshop, co-organised by ISEAL, GIZ and the Sustainable Food Lab, featured 21 speakers from a range of institutions including (but not limited to) Rikolto, Voice Network, Solidaridad Colombia, SHIFT, SCOPEinsight, Nestle Cocoa Plan, Fairfood, The Sustainable Trade Initiative IDH, Cote d’Ivoire-Ghana Cocoa Initiative, and Sustainalytics. The workshop received over 600 participants from 66 different countries to explore the building blocks for an effective living income program and how can we start to build a shared understanding of good practices when communicating about action on living income.



 

On June 21st the High-Level Meeting on Living Income and Living Wage hosted by GIZ on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in Berlin provided a space for dialogue on the role of the public sector in living income initiatives and policies.
